Fall Show 2011The McClatchy Marching Lions field show this year, The Ark, features music from Camille Saint-Saëns' Carnival of the Animals. With varying musical textures ranging from light and comical to dark and ethereal this original show presents a unique and fascinating retelling of the classic flood story. The story begins with an exposition of the animals, portrayed by the color guard, which is followed by the building tension of the impending storm. Following the tempest, depicted through the drum solo, and upon discovering the flood waters have receded by the release of a dove in Aviary, the show finishes with a climactic and jubilant finale, with all the ark's passengers safely aground. A showcase of talent and creativity, McClatchy Marching Lions are proud to present their 2011 field show, The Ark.
